We love this town. Our roots are deeply planted in Youngsville. We were raised here, changed by the gospel here, we fell in love here, bought our first house here and have welcomed two baby girls here. Youngsville is home.
Two and a half years ago, when we were given an opportunity to partner with friends in restoring one of this town’s most historic buildings, we leapt at the opportunity. We have loved this building since we were riding around together on date nights in high school. Restoration is at the core of who we are. We know that through Christ’s restoring work in us, we have hope for new life. We wanted The Boondocks to be a picture of that new life that compels the two of us.
The work has been hard and rewarding. With many helping hands, we have turned this space into a place where marriages have begun, graduations have been celebrated, babies have been welcomed and 50th anniversaries have been honored.
Today, we will hand over the keys to a passionate group of people who also see the value in this building; the value in celebrating life’s events. We have cherished the opportunity to breathe life into this once dilapidated space. The Boondocks will remain a wedding and event venue, led by a talented team from Rocky Top Hospitality. Rocky Top will honor all current contracts signed by The Boondocks customers in order to make this transition seamless.
We are grateful and humbled to have played a small role in the life and legacy of this building. Our roots will forever remain deep in this town because of the work that we’ve participated in at The Boondocks. We thank this community for the support it has shown us. We know that you will transfer that support to Rocky Top as they take the reins and make this town better for their collective effort to serve.
